Chancellor strays away from climate change agenda
After being removed from the structure of the Ministry of Environment, the agenda on climate change also disappeared from the mandate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty). Chancellor Ernesto Araujo, an assumed climate denier, has given up on the sub-secretariat on Environment, Energy, Science and Technology, which hosted the Climate Change Division. The division was in charge of climate negotiations at the UN conventions and other international fora.
