Bolsonaro’s son shares fake news about preservation

On May 20th, Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of the president, posted on Twitter wrongful information on agriculture X forest areas in Brazil. The tweet started saying that “Brazil produces enough food to feed 5 times over its population using less than 10% of its territory for agriculture”. He then continues to say that “61% of Brazil still has the same vegetation from Adam and Eve times, while Europe has only 1%”. As a source, he printed the cover of a book called “Environmental Psicosis”, written in 2012 by Dom Bertrand, a descendant of the Portuguese monarchs that colonized Brazil. Several fact-checking websites considered the senator tweet fake news.
