Protests against forest fires are organized throughout Brazil

With the commotion around the forest fires, protests were organized via social media and happened in at least 11 Brazilian cities. In São Paulo, more than 10,000 people closed the main central area of the city, occupying Paulista Avenue and then marching until Ibama’s local headquarters. NGOs, social movements, students and scientists participated. Protests also happened in Europe and the US.
