Guajajara indigenous leaders are killed in Maranhão

Firmino Silvino Guajajara and Raimundo Bernice Guajajara were shot dead in the municipality of Jenipapo dos Vieiras, Maranhão State. They left two other members of the Guajajara people injured, who had their names preserved to protect their lives. The Guajajara’s had already lost Paulo Paulino Guajajara in another attack in November. The Federal Police sent a team to investigate the situation.
